Martin Odegaard says £51m Man City player definitely makes his dream five-a-side team

Martin Odegaard has named Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland in his dream five-a-side team.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS Asia, the 24-year-old picked several legends of the game and capped off his side with Haaland up top.

During the same interview, the former Real Madrid midfielder hailed David Silva as one of his idols, while Gabriel Jesus picked Ederson in his all-Brazilian dream five-a-side team.

The £51.2 million (Eurosport) man seems destined to go down as one of the greatest goalscorers in the history of football, which is why he makes for a smart pick in any such hypothetical team.

The treble-winner also admires Odegaard massively, describing him as a “fantastic player” on the Impaulsive podcast when discussing top Norwegian athletes aside from himself.

Now, Martin Odegaard has also indicated how highly he rates Manchester City striker Erling Haaland by naming him in a five-a-side team alongside all-time greats.

“I’m going to take [Gianluigi] Buffon. Legend. Then I will take Sergio Ramos, defending. Then I [will] take [Mesut] Ozil, Eden Hazard and [Erling] Haaland.”

“Good team”, the Arsenal maestro told beIN SPORTS Asia.

Erling Haaland would thrive in that team

If the prospect of linking up with his Norwegian teammate Martin Odegaard was not enough of a threat to opposition defences, Erling Haaland would also be fed chances by a certain Mesut Ozil.

The German legend, in particular, was renowned for his exceptional eye for a pass while Odegaard himself has set up the former Borussia Dortmund frontman on several instances.

As the pair kept coming up with different ways of finding Erling Haaland, he would simply bully defenders and bulldoze past them to put the ball past the opposition goalkeeper.

With Gianluigi Buffon in goal and Sergio Ramos as the side’s lone centre-back, it would be next to impossible for any five-a-side team to get a goal past them as well.

Erling Haaland would score goals galore and dominate proceedings, as he does in 11-a-side games every week as well.
